The XPM-Φ120*3 three head grinding machine is a dry grinding device for preparing analysis samples. Main Technical Parameters

Structure and Working Principle

The machine consists of three grinding heads, clutches, mortar supports and a positioner, mounted uniformly at 120° intervals on the rotating seat. When the clutch is engaged, the motor drives the grinding heads through the belt pulley, gear shaft and universal joint. The pestle rotates forward while the mortar rotates in the same direction, creating relative sliding motion; the self-weight of the grinding head provides the pressure to grind the material. Each pair of grinding tools has an independent clutch, so the three sets can work simultaneously or individually without affecting each other.

Operation

1. Loading: lift the grinding head, remove the mortar cover, place the material into the mortar, cover and lower the head.
2. Grinding: start the motor and turn the clutch handle clockwise to engage the friction clutch.
3. Discharging: turn the handle counterclockwise to disengage, lift the head, rotate the mortar to the discharge position and brush the powder into the container.
4. Indexing: press the positioner handle to rotate the machine top to the next position at 120° intervals.

Safety and Maintenance

• Always rest the grinding head securely when lifted; lower it gently to avoid damaging the mortar and pestle
• Disengage all three clutches and switch off power after work; cover the machine
• Bearings of motor and grinder need inspection and grease change every 1-2 years
• Never repair or dismantle the machine while it is running; ensure reliable grounding

Each machine passes strict factory inspection: friction plate contact area over 2/3, spring adjusted to working pressure, clutch free of sticking, grinding head contact line through mortar center, cone friction wheel and ring contact line over 2/3, smooth rotating seat with accurate positioning, flexible clutch and positioner handles, steady operation without impact noise, temperature rise not exceeding 30°C after 60 minutes continuous no-load running, and reliable grounding.
