Product Description
FX-50 Laboratory Hydrocyclone 50mm Inner Diameter 5-74μm Classification for Mineral Desliming
Product Overview

The FX series laboratory hydrocyclone is a high-efficiency fine particle classification and desliming device widely used in metal mineral processing plants. It is commonly applied in closed-circuit grinding operations with mechanical classifiers during the second stage of grinding or regrinding of crude ore, replacing mechanical classifiers for size-based classification operations.

With a simple structure, long service life, large production capacity, small footprint and low power consumption, the FX series is an ideal choice for laboratory ore dressing and coal washing tests, including overflow classification, concentration, desliming and dewatering processes. The FX-50 model features a 50mm inner diameter with a classification size of 5-74 μm, suitable for fine particle separation in laboratory test work.

FX-50 Laboratory Hydrocyclone overview
Working Principle

The hydrocyclone is a commonly used separation and classification device whose working principle is based on centrifugal sedimentation. The centrifugal sedimentation of solid particles in a hydrocyclone is a complex process involving two-phase fluid flow.

When the two-phase (or three-phase) mixture to be separated enters the hydrocyclone from the tangential direction (or involute direction) of the feed pipe under a certain pressure, a strong three-dimensional elliptical high-intensity rotating shear flow is generated. Due to the difference in particle size (or density) between coarse particles (or heavy phase) and fine particles (or light phase), most coarse particles (or heavy phase) rotate to the bottom under the combined action of centrifugal force, centripetal force, buoyancy and fluid resistance, and are discharged from the sand discharge port as underflow (sand).

Meanwhile, the fine particles (or light phase) move upward in the central spiral flow of the internal vortex and are discharged from the overflow pipe as overflow. In this way, the classification, concentration, desliming and dewatering of the feed slurry are achieved.

This centrifugal sedimentation principle enables the FX series hydrocyclone to achieve efficient fine particle classification with a simple structure and no moving parts, making it an ideal replacement for mechanical classifiers in laboratory and small-scale mineral processing operations.

Features
  • Polyurethane construction for excellent wear resistance and long service life
  • Simple structure with no moving parts, ensuring reliable operation
  • Large production capacity with small footprint and minimal power consumption
  • Available in four models (FX-25, FX-50, FX-75, FX-100) for different capacity requirements
  • Classification size range from 2-10 μm to 20-100 μm across the series
  • Effective for fine particle classification, concentration, desliming and dewatering
  • Can replace mechanical classifiers in closed-circuit grinding operations
  • Compact design suitable for laboratory bench and pilot scale testing
Hydrocyclone features and performance

Long service life due to the good performance of the polyurethane material. High efficiency for 5 - 200 micron particles. Lack of moving parts reduces wear. Continuous or batch removal of underflow requires virtually no downtime for maintenance or recovery. Small relative to other separation equipment. Can operate at a wide range of temperatures and pressures.
